Thank you for your patience over the past few months while the city put green waste recycling into practice.
Green Waste collection runs April through November, on the same day as regular garbage pickup. From December through March, the green cart may be used for regular household garbage. Each cart includes detailed participation instructions. Residents unsure of their collection day can use the interactive garbage and recycling map.
Green waste recycling is coming to Farmington through a partnership between Farmington City and the Wasatch Integrated Waste Management District (WIWMD). The program diverts organic material from the landfill, converting it into wood chips and compost — reducing greenhouse gas emissions, protecting ecosystems, and preserving Davis County’s rapidly diminishing landfill space.
