The Farmington City Fire Department (FFD) prides itself in providing quality and safe medical treatment & transport of the sick and injured. All FFD Ambulances are licensed through the Utah Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (UBEMS License# 0360L). All EMS personnel maintain certifications as Advanced EMT’s or Paramedics. FFD personnel also participate in ongoing EMS training to include Emergency Vehicle Operations, Advanced Life Support, Ice Rescue, Rescue Task Force (Active Shooter) and Wilderness Care to mention a few.
FFD currently utilizes three “Type 1” Ambulances and one reserve “Transport Engine” (Fire Truck with built-in Ambulance). Other specialty apparatus include a 6×6 Ranger with EMS module and a Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) trailer. To help ensure the safety of our customers and EMS professionals, FFD provides top of the line apparatus and equipment with incorporated technology. Examples of this technology include mechanical CPR devices, power gurneys and power loading systems, bariatric transport loading system, ergonomic work area designs, 4×4 drivetrain, and advanced Ambulance box construction with crumple zones. These investments unquestionably improve overall comfort and safety of our customers and EMS professionals.
