Site Plan Review

The Farmington Fire Department conducts comprehensive site plan reviews for new developments and significant property modifications to ensure compliance with fire safety standards. In accordance with Section 104.7.2 of the International Fire Code (IFC), these reviews evaluate critical elements such as emergency vehicle access, fire hydrant locations, fire lane markings, building access for emergency responders, and compliance with fire protection systems.

Farmington Fire Department utilizes a peer review process for all plans involving the installation and/or modification of automatic fire protection systems, fire alarm and detection systems, and related equipment. This includes the review of fire pumps, associated fuel tanks, jockey pumps, controllers, and related components. Additionally, any installation, modification, or removal of standpipe systems is subject to this peer review process.
