Cops And Kids Tradition

Every year in December, the Davis County Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police organizes an event called “Cops and Kids”.
For this event, less fortunate children are recommended through Child Protective Services and the Davis County School system.
The officers meet with the children on a Saturday morning at a local restaurant and are given a complimentary breakfast with the Officer and are given time to get to know one another.
A Police procession is held from the restaurant and a preassigned local (for the last few years, Wal-Mart has hosted the event) retail store where Santa Clause meets the children arriving in a Life Flight / Air Med helicopter.
The children are given a gift card and then do their Christmas shopping with the Officer they had breakfast with.
Farmington City Police Department has proudly attended this event in mass for over 20 years.
