Cops and Kids tradition

Every year in December, the Davis County Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police organizes an event called “Cops and Kids”.
For this event, less fortunate children are recommended through Child Protective Services and the Davis County School system.
The officers meet with the children at a local restaurant and are given a complimentary breakfast with the officers and are given time to get to know one another.
A police procession takes place from the restaurant to a pre-determined local retail store where Santa Clause meets the children and arrives in a Life Flight / Air Med helicopter.
The children are given a gift card and then do their Christmas shopping with the officers.
Farmington Police Department proudly attends this event and supports the noble cause in mass for over 20 years.
Special Olympics Torch Run
Farmington Police Department participates in an annual Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run along with Special Olympics athletes.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) is the largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness event for Special Olympics Utah. Known as Guardians of the Flame, law enforcement members and Special Olympics athletes carry the Flame of Hope throughout Utah and into Opening Ceremony of local competitions and the Final Leg into Special Olympics Utah Summer Games.
Since its inception, the LETR has raised over 900 million dollars worldwide and change millions of attitudes. LETR is changing the future for people with intellectual disabilities and lighting the way for acceptance and inclusion.
Farmington Police Department is a proud supporter of this annual event. We genuinely look forward to more runs to come!
