Baseball

Our Adaptive Baseball program is designed to provide an inclusive and supportive environment for players of all abilities. Focusing on teamwork, skill development, and fun, this program allows individuals with disabilities to enjoy the game of baseball while building confidence and friendships. Through tailored games, participants will learn the fundamentals of the sport, develop coordination, and experience the joy of playing America’s pastime. With customized coaching and adjusted gameplay, athletes will learn the basics of the sport and participate in friendly competition. Program Details: 6 games – no playoffs. Adaptive basketball is a basketball league for participants with a mental or physical disability. Anyone of any ability is welcome. Players will be split into teams on game nights and play a pickup-style basketball game. Games consist of two 20-minute halves.

Fishing Club

Our Summer Fishing program offers an opportunity for kid ages 8 to 15 and their parents to learn the basics of fishing from experience volunteers that are eager to share their wisdom. This will take place over 6 weeks of lessons that build upon each other. Come and learn a new skill and take advantage of a great community resource in the Farmington Pond.

Through our partnership with NFL Flag we are able to offer flag football leagues that are safe, fun, and provide kids an opportunity to learn about the value of teamwork. NFL Team Jerseys and flags provide kids with top quality equipment as well as the opportunity to represent their favorite team. Many age groups are offered. Our Youth Pickleball Lessons introduce kids to the fast-paced and fun world of pickleball! Designed for beginners and young players looking to improve, this program focuses on teaching the fundamentals of the game, including proper technique, rules, and strategy, in a supportive and engaging environment. Lesson: 4 one-hour lessons.

Beginners: The class is geared toward those just starting or struggling with basic ground strokes, volleys, and dinks.

 Intermediate: The students have some experience with the game and opportunities to play out points. A quick learner who has played tennis could justify playing in the intermediate class. These students will get some gameplay with strategy during this instruction time.

All players will get a chance to run drills with an instructor. We try to rotate players amongst the instructors; each station teaches a different skill.

Summer

Summer instructional tennis lessons are here. Drills incorporating basic skills; ground strokes, overheads, volleys, serves and more. These lessons are taught by our experienced tennis instructor, Melanie McEntire and a few youth instructors. Many age groups are offered. Equipment is provided if needed. Summer sessions run for two weeks on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Inclement weather may relocate the classes to the Farmington Gym (294 S 650 W) for indoor play if space is available or rescheduled for another day. You will be informed through text messaging through our Sportsman Registration system.

Calling all runners! Farmington Parks and Recreation is proud to offer the Jr. Phoenix Track Camp. This 3 day long camp and track meet combination program is a great opportunity to learn how to run far and how to run fast. This program is put on by the Farmington High School track team and coach. Program Details:
Camp: Child will be instructed by Farmington High School Track and Field Coaches and Athletes in several aspect of track and field. Participants will have an opportunity to learn about the following events (50m,100m,100m low hurdles,400m dash,800m run,1600m run, Softball Throw, Long Jump, Mini Javelin)
Meet: Participants will be given an opportunity to participate in up to 3 different track and field events. The event options are 50m,100m,100m low hurdles,400m dash,800m run,1600m run, Softball-Throw, Long Jump, Mini Javelin). Jr. High age groups and above will be separated by Gender.

Volleyball
League

Join our Coed Volleyball Recreation League for a season filled with fun, fitness, and friendly competition! Open to players of all skill levels, this league is a great way to stay active, improve your game, and meet new people in a supportive environment. With weekly matches and a focus on teamwork and sportsmanship, our coed league brings the excitement of volleyball to players looking for both a challenge and a good time. Come spike, set, and serve your way through an unforgettable season!

Fees:
3rd-8th Grade – $40 resident, $50 non-resident
9th-12th Grade- $45 resident, $55 non-resident
Ages: 3rd-12th Grade
Program Dates: October 26-December 7, 2024

Program Details: Each team plays 6 games, with no playoffs.
Days: Saturday
