Everything ages and needs to be replaced, including water mains. Construction has begun to replace the Main Street Water line between State Street and 600 North, replacing a century-old water line.
This will undoubtedly be incredibly disruptive to traffic, and there will be periods of water loss for specific residences as the project progresses. We apologize in advance, but the work must be done. Crews will do their best to notify specific homes if water is anticipated to be shut off, and to quickly restore water flows.
We will post regular updates on the progress of the project, and are happy to inform anyone who calls into our office of new developments.
The intersection at State and Main. Northbound traffic will be rerouted first East.
